Safety paradigm shift
Before

Passive, physical defense

Suppression after ignition, relying on thermal and flame-retardant materials.

Now

Active, technical detection

Reading cell condition before an anomaly develops into an incident.

Recently reported
  • 01

    Thermal runaway after impact

April 2026, two electric vehicles in Changwon and Cheonan caught fire at the battery immediately after road collisions. Even with the vehicles submerged in water tanks, the fires took about 1 hour 40 minutes and more than 2 hours to put out.

  • 02

    ESS facility fire

May 2026, a 7MW ESS facility in Nottinghamshire, UK caught fire and four fire stations responded. No casualties were reported and the cause is under investigation.

  • 03

    Battery explosion at home

September 2026, a power bank charging in a Seoul home swelled and gave off an odor, then exploded. The product was certified.

Summarized from public reporting. No fault is attributed to any product or company, and no conclusion is drawn about ongoing cause investigations.

03.6Business Model

From hardware supply to a battery data platform.

Sensor modules go first to sites where safety management is most urgent, then expand into a subscription service that monitors battery condition in real time, with a data platform on top.

03.8Why E-CNTShield

What electrical signals miss.

E-CNTShield by monitoring unit, detected factors, sensor form and operating model.

Monitoring unit
Individual cellEach cell, not a pack average.
Detected factors
Physical + thermal + electricalPressure, temperature and form change alongside electrical signals.
Sensor form
Ultra-thin CNT filmAttaches to the cell surface without meaningful weight or volume penalty.
Operation
Continuous, real-timeRead during operation, not at scheduled inspections.
Business structure
Hardware + software subscriptionSensor supply is followed by an ongoing monitoring service.
